What is the opportunity?
The Banking Litigation team in Toronto is in need of a law clerk for a senior law clerk position filling a parental leave until March 8, 2024. As a Senior Law Clerk, you will assist litigation team with legal tasks and activities to support and protect the organization. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.
Candidate must be willing to work at least 3 days per week onsite.
What you will do?
- Managing small claims litigation portfolio; managing external counsel and legal spend
- Assisting Canadian Banking Litigation team with escalations and resolving routine legal issues by providing administrative support. Providing interpretations on various court orders and other legal documents.
- Conducting legal tasks, such as research and drafting, under the supervision of lawyers on the team.
- Maintaining repositories of legal documentation and databases
Must Have
- 1-5 years’ experience in private practice or with an inhouse legal team handling litigation matters
- Law Clerk Diploma
- Excellent problem-solving and client service skills
- Ability to ensure accuracy, attention to detail and meet deadlines
