Requirements:
· Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma (or equivalent in experience)
· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Clerical accuracy, proof reading
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize
· Able to work independently, as well as actively participate as part of a team
· Professional demeanor and ability to provide a high level of customer service
· Desire to learn on the job and expand skill set
Duties:
· Handle general administration of estates and estate documents
· Prepare and manage probate applications
· Deal with CRA, banking and financial institutions, as relates to estates
· Review and finalize all estate planning documents including Wills, POA and reporting letters
· Work on multiple matters simultaneously and often with short timelines
· Preparing routine correspondence (Fax & email)
· Administrative support, including billing
· Document preparation and editing
· File preparation- organize and maintain files
· Assist with scheduling appointments
· Other duties as assigned
