Harrison Pensa is actively recruiting a Law Clerk for our Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy department. We are looking for a self-driven and highly motivated individual who can succeed in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft court documents, demand notices and forbearance agreements, pursuant to attorney’s request;
• Manage communication with process servers and court with status of court documents;
• Complete various legal research when drafting factums or books of authorities;
• Uphold successful maintenance of file organization;
• Daily correspondence with clients and attorneys providing updates or obtaining instructions;
• Maintain calendars and tasks to be current for files;
• Responsible for developing and preparing exhibits for various lawsuits;
• Organize insurance and claims files several times a day;
• Perform legal research for cases to find appropriate precedents;
• Assist other lawyers and staff within the practice group as needed;
• Other duties, as required by the department.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary Law Clerk Diploma;
• 1-3 years of experience as a Law Clerk;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Highly motivated and able to prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment;
• Courteous, client-focused and obtains a professional attitude;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
