Established progressive law firm seeking an experienced mature individual to join our busy personal injury team as an accident benefits law clerk. The successful candidate will be hardworking, detail-oriented and have a passion for the law.
Duties include:
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters and treatment providers both orally and in writing
- Gather, sort and record pertinent information
- Manage competing deadlines
- Organize files in a paperless system
- Project based duties including reviewing and summarizing medical records
- Preparing applications for accident benefits
- Preparing applications to the Licence Appeal Tribunal
- Scheduling appointments, examinations and hearing dates
- Preparation of accounts, disbursement lists
- Preparing and following up on requests for medical and third party records
- File opening, filing of documents and file organization
- Keeping track of limitation periods and timelines and tribunal filings
- Maintaining bring forward system
Qualifications:
- Law Clerk diploma with minimum 2 years experience or alternatively, experience as an accident benefit insurance adjuster
- Previous experience in accident benefit claims
- Understanding and interest in medical terminology
- Strong ability to take initiative and problem-solve
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to meet others on their business or personal level
- Work independently as well as with a team
- Enjoy multi-tasking with exceptional attention to detail
- Possess good working knowledge of Primafact, PC Law and trust accounting

Salary: $35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
