JOB TITLE: Laundry Assistant reporting to Head Housekeeper
BASIC SKILLS REQUIREMENTS (including numeracy, literacy and English speaking abilities:

Day-to-Day Duties
1. Liaise with the head housekeeper for special daily requirements.
2. To ensure the laundry of residents’ clothing is to the highest standard, including ironing.
3. Iron personal items of laundry in accordance with instructions on labels
4. Ensure the laundry is collected and returned to the correct area of the home on a
5. regular basis and personal clothing of residents is put away in a neat and tidy manner.
6. Ensure that all residents’ wardrobes and clothing drawers are kept clean, neat, and tidy.
7. Sort soiled linen and personal laundry.
8. To ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment.
9. Wash & dry all laundry accordingly to protocols.
10. Repair tears and replace buttons on items of personal laundry.
11. Return linen to appropriate cupboards.
12. Return personal laundry to individual rooms using personalised storage boxes and hanging rails.
General responsibilities of the position include:
1. Maintain house linen and personal laundry.
2. Be aware of and maintain infection control standards.
3. Ensure that the laundry equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe
condition. Report any defect to the Head Housekeeper or maintenance person.
4. To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
5. To comply with COSHH regulations.
6. Observance of Health & Safety requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £10.50 per hour

- Weekend availability
