We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our existing team at Primrose Croft Care Home in Cambridge. You will be part of a supportive and welcoming team providing physical, emotional, and social support to our residents. Salary & Shifts:

£10.90 per hour

35 hours a week between Monday – Sunday. You will be required to work alternate weekends.

Key duties are:

  • To manage the laundry procedures and put through required laundry, therefore preventing unnecessary build-up.
  • To ensure that bundles of laundry are identified for the staff to load and unload into the washers and dryers.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the daily de-fluffing of the dryers, reporting any defects to the Head of Home.
  • To distribute clothes to clients’ rooms and ensure the correct marking of clients’ clothes.
  • To manage the laundry throughout under Health and Safety best practices, paying special attention to cross-infection.
  • To identify and report and areas of malfunction or damage to equipment, in accordance with the company’s Maintenance reporting procedure.
  • To maintain the general cleanliness of the laundry, through identified and agreed work schedules.
  • To adhere to and maintain the company’s policies and procedures.
