Your new role:
To be successful in your application, you will hold a professional vocational qualification in a Grounds Maintenance discipline or have equivalent experience, plus a full driving including trailer license and certificates of competence in compact tractor operations and use of tractor mounted implement, ride-on and self-propelled pedestrian mowers, strimmers, brush cutters and hedge cutters. You will hold a certificate of competence for pesticides spraying (PA1 & PA6), and have experience of undertaking landscaping and grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting within a professional environment. A full, valid UK Driving Licence is required. The successful candidate will have an Enhanced DBS Check prior to staring in the role.

Landscape & Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Teesside area- Middlesbrough / Redcar / Darlington / Stockton
Working hours: Full time, 45 hours per week Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £11.29 per hour

What you’ll do:
- Carry out a range of grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks e.g. grass cutting, raking, edging, weeding, sweeping, litter picking, chemical application, planting & laying turf, initial marking and over marking of sports pitches and athletics etc.
- Drive and operate a wide range of vehicles, plant and equipment including vehicle attached machinery, pedestrian and ride-on machinery and hand held equipment to maintain parks and open spaces to the required standards.
- Undertake daily routine safety and maintenance checks ensuring that vehicles, machinery and equipment used is well maintained, kept clean and not exposed to the risk of damage or theft
- Use approved equipment and follow manufacturer’s recommended guidelines and application rates, when undertaking the application of Herbicides/Pesticides, ensuring that all defined areas are maintained to the required standards. PA1 & PA6 certification for use and application of chemicals is required.
- Complete documents relating to the role of the post e.g. daily work records, vehicle/equipment defect reporting and client PPM schedules.
- Liaise with Client Representatives and Contract Managers ensuring positive constructive relationships based on good service delivery.
