About the role
We are recruiting for a Ladies Garment Technologist to implement the Technical Services strategy of reducing returns & facilitate the roll-out of Agile Trading aligning to the business strategy. Working across departments goes without saying ensuring consistent fit & quality providing product excellent value for money.
Key Responsibilities -
- Responsible for all aspects of quality for agreed product type including associated testing & labelling requirements.
- Lead fit sessions, write fit comments & liaise with Matalan supply base.
- Update graded size charts / keep Matalan Pattern Library up to date ensuring fit consistency across product ranges.
- Organise document & analyse wearer trials & fit reviews
- Attend product sign off meetings or relevant post collaborative meeting
- Read & advise on test report failures & ensure product performance requirements are established. Stay informed on product safety & legislation
- 3D fitting process where applicable along with continuous monitoring for improvements
- Regular participation in running returns reports & reading customer reviews implementing trackable improvements to reduce dept KPI
- Regular store visits documented & reported
- To take responsibility & accountability for actions and have a willingness to learn
About You
- Relevant qualification in clothing technology or equivalent level
- Experience of fitting garments, pattern grading & amending within a manufacturing or retailing environment minimum of 3 years.
- Skills in communication, problem solving, organised & be able to work confidently to deadlines & have the ability to work alone as well as in a team.
- Must be able and have a willingness to support other departments during peak times.
- PC literate with experience of working with Microsoft Office packages is essential. Experience of relevant PLM soft wear is preferable
