We wish to appoint a:
Specialist Mental Health and Interventions Worker (Family Drug and Alcohol Court Team)
37 hours a week
FTC until 31 March 2024 with the potential for extension.
Salary £30,451
We have an excellent opportunity for someone with good knowledge and experiencing of delivering therapeutic interventions to join the Leeds Family Drug and Alcohol Court Team (FDAC). We’d be particularly interested to hear from those with a background of working with domestic abuse and a violence and/or mental health.
The FDAC Team has now been established in Leeds for over seven years and has excellent partnership relations with its stakeholders and the Family Court Judiciary. The post holder will form part of a multidisciplinary specialist team, based in Barca-Leeds, to work with families who have children subject to care proceedings being held in the Family Drug and Alcohol Court. FDAC provides a problem solving, trauma informed and restorative approach to care proceedings which aims to improve the outcomes for children by helping parents change the issues that have put their children at risk of harm. The FDAC Team complete a dynamic assessment of the family and advises the Family Court. The successful candidate will hold a caseload delivering interventions addressing the issues giving rise to Care Proceedings including domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse and the impact on parenting. The work addresses the trauma and the entrenched drivers and behaviours behind the presenting issues.
