Job description

Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Part Time Laboratory Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports.

30 hours per week (mon -wed, tue-thurs or mon-thurs)

Responsibilities:
  • Carryout the preparation and extraction of samples ready for analysis
  • Work to UKAS standards (ISO 17025 and MCERTS) to ensure that the agreed quality standards and requirements
  • Ensure that all work carried out complies with documented procedures and samples are handled correctly
    Highlight any abnormalities or deviations from the method
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and superiors
  • Prepare standards and solutions
  • Accurately record data
  • Monitor lab consumables
  • Understand the tasks you are performing and the importance of them within the laboratory
  • Compliance with company health and safety requirements, adopting a proactive safety attitude to ensure the safety of self and others
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Good General education including English and Maths
  • Highly motivated and organised individual
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
