Job description
Applications are invited for the above position. The successful applicant will work as part of a team in the diagnosis of animal diseases, and laboratory research studies related to the development of animal vaccines. The job will involve support duties for the lab team. Duties will include booking in and preparing samples, basic equipment maintenance and calibration, stock checks, preparation of reagents, sending out sample kits and other general support duties. Compliance with Good Laboratory Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO:17025 will be required at all times.
This position is full time (40 hours per week) Wednesday to Friday , it should be noted that early starts (07:00) are required. Salary will be in the range of £21,800 – £23,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Applicants should have achieved National 4 (or equivalent) Qualifications in Mathematics, English and 1 science subject. Written work must be neat and legible. Lab technician experience or higher qualifications would be advantageous although not essential. A full, clean driver’s licence is essential.
