Laboratory Development Technician | 2023 – 2024 Year in Industry Placement
The 2M Group are excited to be offering a year in industry placement position at our Laboratory at the Banner Chemicals
Liverpool Site.
The Laboratory Development Technician role would ideally be suited for a Life Science Student studying at university who
would be interested in gaining invaluable experience working alongside our Product Development Manager carrying out
formulation development work. The role predominantly focuses on industrial but there will be the opportunity to gain
experience across all industries the company serve.

Key Responsibilities
1. Be involved in Sustainable and Environmentally friendly Industrial formulation development.
2. Carry out analytical testing and evaluation of new green suppliers, competitors, and new potential supplier raw
materials.
3. Assist the Development Manager with day-to-day formulation design work, including preparation of chemicals
and equipment.
4. Undertake formulation stability testing and performance testing.
5. Maintaining, calibrating, and cleaning of equipment, and ensuring the safe removal of waste.
6. Ordering and maintaining stock and resources. Ensure that everything is clearly and correctly labelled.
7. Collecting and preparing samples for testing, including preparation of stability, challenge, and QC samples.
8. Carry out routine tasks accurately following strict methodologies to carry out analysis.
9. Carry out COSHH and safety assessments as chemicals come in, and ensure current assessments are up to date.
10. Undertake performance testing on developed formulations.
11. To undertake any other duties relevant to the post as and when required.
