Job description
RPS is looking for an Laboratory Analyst to join the team at our Manchester based laboratories. We operate from purpose-built laboratory facilities which have a long history of providing expert advice and analytical solutions to a wide range of industrial and service sectors including pathology & biological, occupational hygiene & environmental & trace organics. Our laboratories enjoy an international reputation for solving complex and novel analytical problems in unusual matrices.

What you’ll be doing:
- Analyse samples in line with turnaround time requirements
- Report results using LIMS
- Ensure AQC samples are analysed at correct frequency and recorded on control charts. Inform senior staff of failures
- Analyse samples via ion chromatograph in line with laboratory procedures
- Order consumables/reagents as required to ensure adequate stocks are maintained
- Assist with sample preparation as required
- Undertake routine maintenance of equipment as required
- Ensure quality records are maintained in line with laboratory requirements
- Comply with H&S requirements. Report H&S issues to senior management
Who we are looking for:
- A Science based degree or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a face paced UKAS laboratory environment
- Good time management skills, attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure
