Job description

RPS is looking for an Laboratory Analyst to join the team at our Manchester based laboratories. We operate from purpose-built laboratory facilities which have a long history of providing expert advice and analytical solutions to a wide range of industrial and service sectors including pathology & biological, occupational hygiene & environmental & trace organics. Our laboratories enjoy an international reputation for solving complex and novel analytical problems in unusual matrices.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analyse samples in line with turnaround time requirements
  • Report results using LIMS
  • Ensure AQC samples are analysed at correct frequency and recorded on control charts. Inform senior staff of failures
  • Analyse samples via ion chromatograph in line with laboratory procedures
  • Order consumables/reagents as required to ensure adequate stocks are maintained
  • Assist with sample preparation as required
  • Undertake routine maintenance of equipment as required
  • Ensure quality records are maintained in line with laboratory requirements
  • Comply with H&S requirements. Report H&S issues to senior management

Who we are looking for:

  • A Science based degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a face paced UKAS laboratory environment
  • Good time management skills, attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure
