Job description

Night Dreamer is a record label that specialises in direct-to-disc recordings - the process by which the music is cut onto acetate from single take performances, without interference or post production. The label is based in London with all recording sessions taking place at their partner studio in Haarlem, The Netherlands. They work with a wide range of handpicked artists and aim to change the relationship between artists and labels in a positive way. The label is in its third year and boasts a newly added sub-label (Day Dreamer) enabling the label to release music outside the direct-to-disc process.

Night Dreamer are recruiting a Label Assistant to join their small but mighty team. The chosen person will work with artists, management, PR teams and assist our Director on tasks including but not limited to daily label operations, release planning, implementing release campaigns, and coordinating recording sessions.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Organise release schedule, music production, stock control
  • Oversee global sales reporting across platforms
  • Social media scheduling and planning
  • Metadata preparation
  • Maintenance of online store and product databases (eg. product images, descriptions and audio clips)

  • Knowledge of music retail trends and physical and digital sales is an advantage

The right person will be passionate about music and vinyl, with a really keen interest in working on the commercial side of the music industry and to join Night Dreamer/Day Dreamer at a pivotal point to grow and develop the business further. This is an opportunity to work in a small label in many different capacities, so there will be an invaluable opportunity to learn and develop your skills quickly and the opportunity to focus on your preferred area as we grow.

This role will be on a freelance basis, paying between £13-16ph depending on experience and a commitment of two days a week is required, with the ability to move to three days a week in time to come. The role will be based in our offices in Clerkenwell, with the opportunity to work remotely on some days.
