• Job Title: Laboratory Technician
• Job Type: Permanent
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am-5pm)

Here at SGS we offer a dynamic work environment in a leading global company with sites throughout the UK, with our head office and key laboratory site being based in Ellesmere Port. We are due to go through an expansion in the late 2023, to upscale and grow our Ellesmere Port laboratory we are currently recruiting.

Job Description:

• Analyse samples in accordance with appropriate analytical test procedures and within customer requirements and where appropriate record results
• Accurately entering laboratory test data into relevant IT LIMS system ensuring (where appropriate) diagnosis is performed and / or results are reported within KPI.
• Where possible provide front line maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, allowing for the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
• Help to build a good working relationship between colleagues, other teams and clients to reduce inefficiencies and capture all business opportunities.
• Report near misses and other NCR’s/CAPRs/NIRs to the Laboratory Team Leader and register on the company’s quality system.
• At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and clients, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.

How to be a successful candidate

To be a successful candidate we are looking for candidates with Laboratory experience, preferably in the petrochemical industry, or similar working environment. We will also considered candidates who have experience in working in a fast moving and customer service roles.

Essential

GCSE / ONC in a science subject. Chemistry is preferable and GCSE Grade C (or similar) Mathematics, English Language.
