Apprentice R&D Laboratory Technician – Degree Apprenticeship

Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to start your career? We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to join our company on a degree apprenticeship as an R&D Laboratory
Technician. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Research and Development (R&D) team. You will be responsible for conducting lab tests, assisting in designing experiments for trials, and providing valuable input for the development and improvement of our products and processes. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for growth and learning within a dynamic and innovative environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct various laboratory tests according to predefined protocols and procedures.
- Perform accurate and reliable data collection, recording, and analysis.
- Utilise laboratory equipment and instruments effectively and safely.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to develop experimental plans and protocols.
- Assist in designing and setting up experiments for product testing and improvement.
- Record and present experimental setups and data.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on experimental findings and test results.
- Document experimental procedures, observations, and outcomes.
- Ensure that all records and reports are maintained accurately and securely.
- Adhere to strict quality control measures in the lab to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control processes.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while handling chemicals, equipment, and materials.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Work closely with the R&D team to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions to share findings and insights.
- Assist with development projects, including collaborating with external customers and suppliers.
- Work with project leaders to develop and deliver new products on time, meeting key performance criteria as defined by the project sponsor.
- Engage in effective communication with external parties to ensure project success.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Minimum of three A-levels (or equivalent) with at least one A-level in Chemistry at grade C (or equivalent) or higher.
- A minimum of a grade C (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English.
- Strong interest in laboratory work, research, and development processes.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and safety protocols is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive approach to skill development
Qualifications you will achieve as part of your Degree Apprenticeship:
Laboratory Scientist Degree with Manchester Met University

Salary: £17,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
