JAYPLAS CORBY requires a QC TECHNICIAN to complete our Quality Control team, within our plastic recycling facility in Corby, Northamptonshire.
The Quality department performs an essential service within our manufacturing process and new technicians will be tasked with ensuring all PET products satisfy our testing regime. Each technician will report directly to the Laboratory Manager and their key functions are to:
- ensure all QC procedures are strictly adhered to.
- be responsible for the laboratory.
- perform physical tests upon either raw materials or finished products. For example visual checks, contamination determination, density, moisture content.
- perform chemical tests upon both raw materials and finished products. Includes traditional ‘wet’ chemistry techniques (e.g. pH, titrations)- on-site training provided.
- be pro-active with regards to process and procedure monitoring.
- monitor all chemicals used in the manufacturing process
- control the release of finished goods to the customer including generating dispatch paperwork and communicating with goods out
- calibrate laboratory instruments as required and perform calibration
- validate testing regimes and undergo method development as required
The QC roles are very much ‘hands-on’ but each technician will need to work closely with the corresponding shift supervisor and production operatives when required. Ideally, candidates should have experience of quality control, although experience is not required as in house training is provided.
Week 1 6am -2pm Monday to Friday 6am till 12 noon Saturday
Week 2 10pm - 6am Monday to Friday Finishing Saturday Morning
Week 3 2pm - 10pm Monday to Friday
