James Walker & Co Ltd is looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician who will be based at our Manufacturing Business Unit in Cockermouth, Cumbria.

Main duties of this role will include but are not limited to:
· Sample preparation and testing using a variety of equipment such as rheometers, hardness testing machines and tensometers.
· Carrying out compression set testing.
· Logging results and data accurately onto internal systems.
· Identifying issues and raising these accordingly.
· Contributing towards company and department success including the achievement of KPI’s.
The successful candidate must have:
· A minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade C/4 or above including English, Maths and Science.
· A higher science based qualification such as a HNC or degree would be of an advantage.
· Previous experience of working within a Laboratory environment would be preferred but is not essential.
· Previous experience of data logging and recording would be of an advantage.
· A flexible approach to duties.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· The ability to pay particular attention to detail and quality of work.
· The ability to build great relationships.
· A pro-active approach to work and getting things done.
