Job description
FIS Chemicals is a rapidly growing chemical business who supply chemicals all over the world. As a result of increased activity we are looking for an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to assist with technical matters and perform laboratory testing.
Job Description
The role is very variable offering a unique opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic team. The general tasks involved in the role are listed below but there will be many opportunities to explore other areas of the business including regulatory side of things such as offshore chemical registrations, safety and technical datasheet preparation etc.
Product Development
o Designing and setting up experiments to test new products
o Recording and presenting data
o Report writing
General Laboratory Tasks
o Logging incoming samples
o Maintaining lab inventory of chemicals and consumables
o Maintaining and calibrating equipment as required.
o Arranging safe disposal of waste chemicals
QHSE
o Carrying out QC testing on incoming raw materials and finished products.
o Preparing Certificates of Analysis and reporting results to the customer
o Preparing Risk Assessment
o Wearing appropriate PPE at all times
Person Specification
Some formal scientific training would be desirable
Former experience in a laboratory experience would be ideal but training will be provided
A good working knowledge of Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint
A good attention to detail and ability to work under their own initiative
