Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research and Development Laboratory Technician to join the team at their facility located in Berkshire. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts to develop innovative solutions. The successful candidate will require a biology-based degree along with ELISA experience.
Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory experiments and procedures under the supervision of senior researchers or scientists.
Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials, ensuring their proper functionality and cleanliness.
Accurately record experimental data, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks or computer databases.
Perform routine and specialized laboratory techniques, such as ELISA, to analyze samples and evaluate their characteristics.
Assist in the development and optimization of laboratory protocols and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects and contribute to the development of new products.
Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.
Assist in the ordering and management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Maintain accurate and organized records of inventory and samples.
Requirements
A biology-based degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
Previous commercial laboratory work experience.
Proficiency in ELISA techniques and other molecular biology methods.
Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) environment is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
Ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instruments, and software.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment.
