Job description
This role will be on an initial 6 month temporary basis with scope to evolve into a permanent position.
We are seeking to recruit a self-motivated, conscientious, and committed individual who is looking for their next exciting challenge . The successful candidate must have a hands-on approach and the ability to react well to change in a fast-moving environment.
Based in our Aberdeen headquarters, reporting to the Head of Elastomer Technology, the position’s main responsibility is to support the Elastomer Technology department by assisting in the research, development and testing of high performance materials.
The successful candidate will be responsible for.
- Maintenance of Materials Database
- Maintenance of Test Lab
- Quality Control on incoming rubber using SPC
- Assist in moulding trials
- Assist with Technical Report on each project
- Assist with General Rubber testing in accordance to ASTM / BS specs
- Accurate compilation of test reports and documentation, recording and interpretation of results
- Operation and maintenance of lab equipment to various standards
- Creation of new test standards and procedures including Health and Safety aspects
- General Housekeeping
The ideal candidate would have studied mathematics and Chemistry or other relevant science subject supported by, a willingness to learn, can do attitude, and the ability to approach tasks with a methodological approach. Experience or knowledge in lab environment advantageous.
