Brief job description:
Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Software Tester Apprentice with Forfront, a Marketing Automation and Software Development Company based in Epsom, Surrey.
Job Description:
To develop, maintain, document, and perform tests for new and existing software developed in conjunction with the Product Development team and to ensure the high standard of software quality is maintained.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Testing software for errors and deviation from specification.
- Design, develop, implement and document test scenarios.
- Document test plans.
- Use of Selenium web browser automation suite.
- Writing and managing SOAP UI test scripts.
- Building test scripts for automation.
- Logging bugs (errors, faults and deviation from specification)
- Working with the product team to improve user experience security and stability.
- Make recommendations to improve Quality Assurance.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Skills Required:
- Able to understand technical documentation.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Able to produce accurate and clear reports.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work accordingly.
- Good understanding of technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Competent user of Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel etc)
Personal qualities:
- Motivated to self-learn new concepts and techniques.
- Capable of working independently when required.
- Good team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Ready and willing to learn.
- Right to live and work in UK.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives the learner accreditation as a Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:
- Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
- Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose
- Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
- Understand the software lifecycle and apply software development practices.
- Document and report test results.
- Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
