The Role
We are seeking a fully qualified Level 3 Mechanic to join our Technical Services division at the VWG PDI Centre located in Sheerness, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multi-brand (Audi, SEAT, Skoda, VW and VW Commercial Vehicles) environment on a wide range of a new vehicles. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, and offers the right candidate a chance to join a successful Group with high employee engagement.
The key responsibilities in this role include;
· Perform workshop repair tasks as allocated by the Technical Team Leader.
· Carry out warranty repairs in accordance with Manufacturer’s warranty policy and procedures.
· Complete PDI and rectification work where required in accordance with Company and Customer procedures and Quality Standards.
· Fit Enhancements for specific customer requirements in allocated time in line with associated procedures and Quality Standards, this would include electrical work, parking sensors, lighting, impact step/bar, locking systems, trackers, floor and side ply-lining, livery, diagnostics and programming.
· Ensure identification and communication of Service Campaign and other technical Bulletins is delivered to relevant members of staff.
· To maintain knowledge of manufacturers technical updates.
· At all times follow procedures and to work to high quality standards.
· To be aware, understand and actively promote the requirements and needs of all operational roles in successfully achieving the agreed customer requirements.
· Work closely with and communicate any issues to the Technical Team Leader which impact production flow or quality standards.
· Ensure all equipment is checked and safe before using, reporting any discrepancies to the Technical Team Leader.
· Ensure all equipment is calibrated as required and records maintained.
· Sign out and return to stores any tooling or equipment as required.
· Attend daily Team Talk as required.
· To access and update systems in accordance with either Company or Customer policies or procedures.
· To assist with maintaining work areas with good housekeeping by removing litter/rubbish.
· Any other incidental duties required to provide service to the customer.
Experience Required;
· Fully qualified NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
· Minimum 3+ years’ experience / time served preferably from a VW Group Brand
· Problem solving skills
· Ability to work on your own and as part of a busy team
· Excellent attention and eye for detail and procedure adherence
· Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a busy environment
· Full UK Driving Licence
