The KYC Refresh SME Director role aims to support the Refresh team within CORS (Operations). The KYC Refresh Team supports several regulatory compliance requirements specified by our local/global regulators and provide a rigorous and robust process of investigation that seeks, with reasonable assurance, to verify and validate the customer’s identity and their business. The role serves as a subject matter expert for KYC periodic review teams across Glasgow, Mumbai, and Bangalore to provide guidance and issue resolution. The SME Team liaise with the Global Financial Crime Team along with other internal and external stakeholders to support the continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and potential system enhancements. The role has the potential to work on adhoc projects, support with training and MI.

What will you be doing?
- You will support the KYC periodic review teams across Glasgow, Mumbai, and Bangalore, as well as non-KYC Operations Teams, to provide guidance and issue resolution on specific cases and broader issues where necessary
- You will serve as a liaison between the global KYC periodic review teams and the Global Financial Crime and Control Testing Advisory and Governance teams for guidance and resolution
- You will support the design and review of Operational Controls for KYC periodic review and support the continuous improvement agenda by suggesting process and procedure
- Where required, you will support the Periodic Review Training Team with the continuous learning programmes, leveraging results from testing and quality programmes to identify and address gaps in training programmes
- You may also be required to partner with client facing teams to collect required documents and data to meet all regulatory and internal policies for KYC periodic review for complex client or case types
- The role also has opportunities to support adhoc KYC or Regulatory projects.
- You will be expected to keep up to date with all regulatory changes and requirements around Client KYC, suitability, and documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant experience in the KYC/CDD/AML space with an understanding of AML-KYC Regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skill with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and draft guidance and procedure documents competently
- Ability to work under pressure and be self-motivated in a fast, dynamic environment and produce high quality work to fixed deadlines
- Advanced in Microsoft Office Experience with PowerPoint, Word, PDF and Excel

- Strong risk and operation controls awareness

The role is based in the Glasgow City Centre Morgan Stanley Office. The CORS Refresh SME Team is part of the Operations Division which is one of the largest divisions in the firm.
