- Acting as escalation point and actively resolving Front Office queries about the firm’s financial crime policies, procedures and processes relating to but not limited to Client Onboarding and Periodic Reviews.
- Perform the Quality Assurance control for Account Opening and Periodic Reviews, ensuring quality objectives are met and that right first-time levels continuously improve.
- Analyse the key financial crime risks for each High-Risk Client Periodic Review and prepare assessments, for review by Compliance.
- Design and deliver training to the Front Office relating to Know Your Client requirements and processes (Client Due Diligence/ Enhanced Due Diligence, Source of Wealth, Client Onboarding and Periodic Reviews).
- Assist in the production and presentation of management information relating to Account Opening and Periodic Reviews to Senior Management and key business stakeholders as required.
- Undertaking, on a delegated authority basis, the review and approval of deviations and exceptions relating to the Client Acceptance and Client Maintenance Standards.
- Proactively engage with the Second Line of Defence (DMLRO/MLRO) to establish clear and consistent standards, enhance processes and achieve efficiencies.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a KYC related role within 1LOD with focus on quality assurance and with the majority spent within the wealth management sector/private banking.
- Fully conversant with the requirements of the UK Money Laundering Regulations/JMLSG regarding client due diligence requirements and queries for simple/complex structures/ Trusts and private individuals. Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in Guernsey and the GFSC Handbook will be an advantage.
- A confident and highly motivated individual who can act pragmatically, using knowledge-based judgement to deliver the best outcomes for the client and the business.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks and draft/deliver presentations to Front Office and Senior Management.
- Ability to foster strong working relationships within the team and with the business.
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in Guernsey and the GFSC Handbook.
