IKEA UK/IE is looking to welcome a new Service Fulfilment Operations Technician (Kitchen Measurement Technician) to their growing team!
This is a field-based role, requiring daily travel around the Reading area. All candidates must have a clean UK driver's license and their own car. A generous car allowance is offered as part of this role.
You will travel to customers' homes to provide a measuring service and act as the first point of contact for customers in their kitchen planning journey.
ABOUT YOU:
You are people-orientated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers in a short space of time. You respect customers' property and act as an IKEA ambassador at all times - seeking to provide an excellent customer experience from initial contact.
You are a self-starter, motivated and organized. You can manage your workload, whilst contributing to wider team goals/workload.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This role is permanent and full-time. You will work 39 hours per week, over 5 days. This role requires weekend work, you will work the equivalent of 1 weekend in 2, with the flexibility to manage your diary based on customer appointment demand.
You must have a full, clean UK driver's license and your own car. This is a field-based role and you must be willing to travel daily to customers' homes within the Reading area (45-minute travel time from the store). A generous car allowance is offered for this role.
We off a competitive base salary depending on experience from £23,200.00 plus the full IKEA benefits package & a car cash allowance to support the field element of the role.
We anticipate that candidate interviews will take place through the advertising timeline. - all interviews will take place virtually.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Great understanding of the customer needs, demands, and expectations on the
- Excellent knowledge of relevant IT systems/solutions/tools within the service
- Space layout experience and knowledge, including measuring
- Understanding life at home in the kitchen market and kitchen design principles
- Knowledge of Health & Safety expectations
- Be familiar with the IKEA social and environmental commitments and
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review the existing kitchen layout and check against customers’ needs and expectations, ensuring all fundamental changes are noted.
- Responsible to capture and feedback on any home defects to ensure future inclusion of any design requirements
- Accurately measure, interpret, and draw out installation space and upload the data promptly, within the IKEA processes and systems.
- Review appliance locations and new appliances to ensure they will fit, draw plumbing, gas, and electric line information on diagrams, noting and confirming any changes with the customer.
- Share and promote the installation journey and ensure proper handover and documentation is uploaded to support the Kitchen planner & plan.
- Review all project paperwork required and system access and obtain needed signatures from the customer.
- Support with ad-hoc customer visits during and post installation as required
- Actively use approved personal safety system (i.e. People Safe) to ensure safety while visiting customers' home
- Ensure we offer the customer the best possible Lead Time for a Measuring Appointment
- Communicate effectively with Key Stakeholders in the Kitchen sales & design process
