Kitchen Supervisor
KOKORO is a Korean Japanese hand-made sushi and hot food takeaway. Having opened its first branch in Kingston in 2010 the company has grown to have more than 52 branches across the UK.
We have established our brand for affordable high-quality sushi as a trendy fast casual
Asian restaurant franchise. We are currently building our team and looking to recruit a kitchen (team leader/ supervisor) manager, you’ll have responsibility for the successful operation of your outlet, as well as managing staff, keeping customer happy and adhering to health and safety mandates.
The role has a strong hospitality element, ensuring that the shop delivers high-quality food and drink and good customer service. The successful candidate will have previous experiences in hospitality industry, ideally for a supervisory role.
Responsibilities
- Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
- Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces
- Selects choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavour
- Coaches the kitchen team members, so they perform at their best
- Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurant
- Keeps up with the latest trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that customers have a positive experience
- Works quickly and accurately during busy periods
- Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short- staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy
- Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team
Skills and Experience required:
- Excellent knowledge of Sushi and other East Asian cuisine
- Excellent Oroshi skill; Trimming and handling raw fish
- Ability to work as part of a Team

Salary: 24,000 to 27,000 per year
