Here at The Woods, we are looking for great Kitchen staff members to join our team!
As our Kitchen Staff, you will be part of the kitchen team, either managing the kitchen during the day for breakfast and brunch service or assisting the chef during dinner service.
Here at The Woods, we have started from working in Education jobs to becoming young entrepreneurs, opening our first small coffee shop in 2021. We are now opening a main coffee shop/restaurant/bar in the heart of the food area in The Mailbox.
We want a team of individuals who are passionate at what they do, want to come on our journey with us, make improvements/ recommendations as a team and feel part of a team they are proud of.
Kitchen Staff Job Responsibilities:
a) Serving and preparing food
b) Preparing and managing ingredients and kitchen stock
c) Following our task list and completing kitchen duties
d) Taking direct instruction from leader in charge
e) Responsible with other staff for all kitchen operations
f) Maintaining a clean and organised work area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
g) Monitoring and replenishing stock levels as needed
h) Comply with all food regulations
i) Comply with the coffee shop allergen guidelines.
j) Pantry is kept tidy and clean always. Food, packaging and drinks are stored tidily and are able to be identified and accessed easily.
k) kitchen area is always cleaned as you go. Surfaces and equipment are thoroughly washed and sprayed between use.
l) Washing up may be a shared task during less busy times, when there is time where you are free washing up and tidying up is the task which needs to be managed.
m) All areas kept organised and clean. This is to avoid cross contamination..
n) Ingredients should be stored correctly at all times and dated.
Work hours and Benefits:
We plan to have a flexible rota, where hours will never be long, they will be reasonable and work for everyone. We plan that the Kitchen Staff hours will vary from different shifts dependant on when different food services start and finish. However, if relevant kitchen staff have certain experience then are able to work any shift.
Just like our Solihull premises, we feel that all staff contribute to the satisfaction of customers and staff tips will be managed by the Directors, who will use the staff tips to organise staff nights out and staff events etc. We can all make suggestions for staff events and use the staff tips to pay for them.
Staff will be entitled to the recommended holiday entitlement set out by government and will also pe part of our pension scheme managed by Nest pensions should they wish. There will be plenty of option for overtime also, should staff members wish.
Kitchen Staff Qualifications / Skills:
a) Enjoy working with others and be able to cooperate as part of a team
b) Attention to detail
c) Relevant food handling certificates and allergen awareness
d) The ability to work well in a noisy, high-pressure environment
e) Ability to multitask and remain organised during a busy period
f) Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
g) Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment while working
h) Communication skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
a) A background in the hospitality industry is beneficial
b) Previous experience in Kitchen Staff positions
c) Experience in retail, food service, customer service or catering is helpful
d) High school degree or equivalent not essential but desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Salary: £6.00-£11.00 per hour
