Job description We are currently looking for skilled Kitchen Assistant to prepare delicious meals in accordance with our menu. You will prepare and cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery.
An excellent Kitchen Staff member must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be adept in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking.
- Participate in all operations within the kitchen environment
- Prepare food and cook customer’s orders by following the instructions and using various equipment
- Ensure meals are served to a high standard and with great presentation
- Ensure food and ingredient are stored properly, always maintaining adequate stock levels
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices in the kitchen
- Clean and replenish dishes, utensils, drinkware and cutlery
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employ best food safety practices and follow instructions to prepare or reheat of food in a timely manner
- Acts as liaison with employees in venue to ensure proper food service provided
- Prepare and cook food from the menu with the instructions provided including reheat method and time, sauces and quantity, plate and decorate, etc.
- Ensure all dishes served with quality and appealing plate presentation
- Maintain food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen
- Clean appliances, kitchen and food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas. Establish and maintain cleaning schedules.
- Wash utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately and readily available
- Control and minimise waste
- Cleans up and dispose of rubbish after business hours,
- Organising linen laundry
- Receive, sort and store food deliveries
- Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance
- Supervise any kitchen staff and assist with the induction and training programme for new staff and participate in staff reviews and supervisions if needed
- Work with the GM to determine how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at all times
- Communicates with GM about how to improve meal service
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
- Proven work experience in a similar role and working in a busy kitchen
- Qualification/Certificates: Course in Food Handling and Food and Hygiene Certificate essential. Any other culinary or food related courses will be advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. steamer, fryer, and etc.)
- Competent knowledge of cooking techniques and familiar with sanitation laws and regulations
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Team mentality
- Eligible to work in the UK

Salary: £10.50-£15.00 per hour
Hours per week: Full Time/Part Time

Experience:
- Atleast 1 year experience of working within a busy kitchen environment of a restaurant and/or bar, events catering and other commercial premises.
