What We're Looking For
We are currently looking for part time Kitchen Porters / Pot washers to join our kitchen team.
You'll need to have a strong work ethic, ideally some hands on kitchen experience and confidence in stock management, food safety, cleanliness and food hygiene.
What You'll Get Up To
As Kitchen Porter you will be responsible for the cleanliness of a busy kitchen, working in a fast-paced environment.
You'll have a hands-on eager approach in supporting the kitchen team; by unloading deliveries, organising stock and store areas, managing waste, cleaning equipment and washing pots.
Taking the lead to ensure that hygiene and cleanliness standards of the kitchen areas are outstanding at all times is paramount. You'll need to be able to proactively work with the team to ensure kitchen spaces are kept hygienically clean, tidy and organised.
Your day to day duties will include setting up for service, accepting and unloading deliveries, organising and rotating stock, colleting and washing pots, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen stations during service and assisting with closing down the kitchen ensuring all stock is put away, all surfaces, floor and equipment is clean and rubbish is taken out.
You'll also be responsible for completing daily and weekly cleaning checklists. As well as having opportunities to assist with basic food preparation and cooking.
The Basics

- Various shift patterns covering, evenings with late finishes and weekends
- Prior kitchen experience is preferred
- Must have an understanding of health department requirements, consistently maintaining a clean working environment and managing stock
- Ideally you'll have basic food hygiene and safety training certificates
- Has excellent communication skills which includes the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in interactions with customers, suppliers, colleagues and management
- Must be able to be multitask and be flexible
- Must be adaptable, dependable and a team player
- Must be able to remain focused and professional in a fast paced and busy environment
- Should be open and willing to learn new skills
- Should have a proactive approach to identify problems and work quickly to find solutions
- Works effectively with others on all levels, in a positive and professional manner
- Should be able to work well as part of a team or independently
