Job description

Salt & Pepper are looking for a new Kitchen Porter to add to their vibrant team!

We're a busy and fast-paced casual dining restaurant, specialising in Chinese street food. We pride ourselves on providing quality food quickly, with excellent customer service, at an affordable price.

As such, all candidates must be able to excel under pressure, feel confident working within an open-kitchen setting and communicate well with their colleagues and customers.

The responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Washing, drying and putting away kitchen equipment
  • Taking deliveries
  • Keeping all BOH areas clean and organised
  • Offering assistance where needed in the kitchen.

The main requirements are:

  • Competency in a kitchen setting - experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisation skills.
  • An attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to a unique kitchen - we don't do things like anyone else!
  • A great work ethic.

For those who are familiar, we're an independent business which started as a tiny market stall and has expanded to a full blown restaurant within a few years. We regularly have queues out the door and we thrive off the buzz of a busy lunch service. It's certainly not easy, but we try and foster a culture of excellence and care with every process, from the till to table. We expect all our team members to reflect this culture, with it in mind that if the business thrives, so will everyone in it.

In return we provide a few perks, including but not limited to:

  • A competitive hourly rate
  • Employee of the month scheme
  • Free meal on shift
  • Employee discount
  • Progression opportunities.
  • Being a part of a young and vibrant team.
  • Being able to work side by side with the founders and be an integral part of a rapidly growing business with big plans!

We look forward to seeing your applications!
