Job Title: Kitchen Porter

Location: Fairfield General Hospital Rochdale Old Road, Bury BL9 7TD

Shift Pattern: 30 hrs a week (varied shifts) include weekends on a rota’d basis hours range from 7am – 6pm

About the Trust

Fairfield Hospital is located on Rochdale Old Road in Bury and it is easily accessible via both car and public transport. There is onsite parking (fees will apply). It has an onsite restaurant where staff are eligible for a discount. The hospital also has a Royal Voluntary Service shop.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • To undertake all kitchen portering tasks, as requested by Catering facilities co coordinator and Chefs.
  • To undertake all scheduled tasks within the required times and in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • To work as part of the restaurant team ensuring all patients are treated with dignity and respect.
  • To keep the kitchen, clean to the required standard.
  • To fill in due diligence records daily.
  • To maintain good hygiene practices in the tasks performed as per infection control procedures.
  • To always observe Health & Safety regulations.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience in a domestic / similar role
  • Excellent customer service
  • NHS experience – desirable but not essential
  • Reliable and hard working
