- Experience working in a kitchen environment is desirable

Aim of the role as Kitchen Porter
To support the kitchen with clean cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils and machinery to the required standard and to carry out any cleaning duties within the kitchen and public areas.
Responsibilities of the Kitchen Porter
- Clean out plate and pot wash machines
- Ensure walls, floor and drains are cleaned and maintained in all kitchen porter areas
- Tidy all kitchen shelves and clean out the containers when necessary and tidy all plates and return excess to china to store
- Deep clean stillroom including the drains and deep clean salamanders
- Clean out rubbish containers and bottle bank skips
- Carry out silver burnishing when required
- To be confident in re-stock various plates etc. in larder hot pass and fish section making sure all china is clean
- To check the smoking area is clean and tidy and empty rubbish bags
- To stack plates in larder pass and fish section
- To ensure work area is left clean and tidy and keep rubbish trolleys clean at all times
