We a recruiting for an assistant chef to join a small catering team in DustonSupporting the head chef, you will have the experience to create delicious three course meals following a set menu. Catering for between 100-300 guests on each occasion, ensuring food quality and taste is to the highest standard**Key skills required**Food HygieneFood preparationFood PresentationOrganisation skillsMultitaskingWorking Hours :This role is a permanent position and you will be directly employed by our client. Interviews will take place ideally as soon as possibleDuties:- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the direction of the kitchen staff- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils- Organize and stock ingredients and supplies in designated areas- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures- Help with inventory management and rotation of food productsSkills:- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness- Good time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects if required- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesIf you enjoy working in a restaurant environment and have a passion for food, this position as a Kitchen Assistant is perfect for you.
