Kitchen Assistant
Havant, PO9
£10 – 12 Per Hour (depending on experience)
Part Time - 30 hours per week including weekends, with optional overtime.
Havant Rugby Club is Hampshire’s most successful rugby club with more than 600 players aged 6 to 60.
As a community amateur sports club (CASC), the club’s mission is to provide sustainable rugby for all, at the highest possible level, supported with great coaching and the best possible playing and training facilities. The club sits at the heart of a community, so as well as the rugby, the club is committed to being a Hub that serves its community hosting a variety of events and functions: Ruby matchdays, Rugby events, Weddings, Birthday parties, Business meetings and Funerals. As well as being a sporting venue, they also host charity events and regularly raise money to support local causes.
About the Role:
Located in Havant our busy Club is looking for an experienced, reliable, pro-active, and diligent individual to join its team to assist producing food to support the club and a variety of events. This role is key to maintaining the reputation and success of the club, as to be successful on the pitch we must be successful off it! The club relies on the contribution that Functions/Events deliver, to reinvest into the club and provide the absolute best rugby experience for those that play it and watch it.
Hours of Work:
Events can take place across the 7 day a week that the club is open.
The hours of work will be 30 hours per week, worked flexibly across the week, running the events activity for any given week.
Role Responsibilities:
- Create, produce, and ensure food meets requisite specifications.
- Help execute menus to meet event requirements whilst delivering required contribution.
- Assist with food prep and cooking.
- Ensure food standards and regulations are met.
- Ensure the kitchen and service area is always clean, well presented, and well-stocked.

Previous experience and skills required:
- 2+ years’ experience as a Chef or have experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Dedicated to food quality and control.
- Expert knowledge of correct food handling and sanitation standards.
