Amcol Scotland Ltd is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The Kitchen Assistant will perform routine kitchen tasks such as cleaning, stocking supplies, and maintaining inventory. They will prepare food and other items for service and interact with stakeholders in a friendly manner.
Formal catering qualifications are desirable but not essential however the successful candidate will be required to undertake Elementary Food Hygiene training if they do not already hold this. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred although training will be provided.
Amcol Scotland Ltd operate children's nurseries within North Lanarkshire and Glasgow area. You will be based in our purpose built establishment in Carfin, Motherwell which caters for up to 147 children.
Candidates will be hands on, self-motivated and have experience of working in a kitchen environment. You will be familiar with preparing and cooking food for a medium to large amount of children. We require basic knowledge of the following: dietary and allergy requirements, healthy eating requirements, planning a monthly menu and the ordering of food. In addition to this you should be aware of good hygiene practices.
The hours of work will be from 9:30am - 1:30pm and candidates should note that overtime may be required from time to time to cover staff holidays or busy periods.
This appointment is subject to a satisfactory vetting procedure and PVG Check.
