Job description
We are currently looking for a kitchen assistant at Rathgar Care Home. The role will include making drinks and snacks for residents as well as cleaning the kitchen and dining area. We are looking for someone who can work independently and take direction when required. You will be compassionate and understanding to our residents needs.
You will be required to work an average of 14 hours per week as an average (4 hours per day, 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next) working alternate weekends.
Rathgar Care Home Ltd is a family run organisation that focus' on care for the elderly in an environment that is a home away from home. The home is very reputable and fully CQC compliant with 23 beds based in Northampton.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
- Collect and wash up dishes
- Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery.
- Unload food and equipment deliveries.
- Keep the kitchen organised
- Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in a kitchen preferred
- Team player
- Flexible
- Undertake training courses necessary to the role
