Job description
Founded by former Michelin-starred chef Paul Rhodes in 2003, Paul Rhodes Bakery has built a strong reputation as the go-to supplier of quality handcrafted sourdoughs, cakes and pastries in the capital.
Paul’s ambition when he started the bakery was simple: to provide London’s busy chefs with the best handcrafted bread, made from the finest ingredients possible. Today, as the bakery heads towards twenty years in business, the goal remains the same and this ambition underpins everything we do. Our bakers and pastry chefs, along with a vital support network of customer service and account managers, packers and drivers, work around the clock to provide our customers, most of whom are still chefs, with an exciting selection of products that are always fresh, relevant, and delicious - and that they are happy to serve to their own customers.
About the Role:
To be considered for this role, please ensure to include a Cover Letter with your CV. In the cover letter, you should let us know why this role is of interest to you and why you feel you would be a good fit.
We work with food businesses of all sizes, from hotels, restaurants, bars, retailers, delis, and small independents along with some contract caterers, all of whom demand the best for their customers. Our business is constantly evolving, and we are always looking at new ways of working. The primary focus of the Key Account Manager is to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with our existing chefs and clients, with a view to supporting their needs and businesses whilst working to maintain, grow and look after ours.
Key Requirements of the Role:
A confident and self-motivated team member with a positive, collaborative outlook is critical for this role, someone who loves the food industry and has a passion for service. Confidence and an engaging way with people is key here - visiting busy kitchens, dealing with chefs, planning menus with them, planning launches and of course, resolving things when they go wrong.
The successful candidate of this role will have proven account management experience, as well as experience in managing a portfolio of B2B relationships along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will love food! They will be adaptable, flexible and solution driven, enthusiastic to work as a team through the highs and lows. They will be enthusiastic about Paul Rhodes Bakery, where we are at now, and where we are going.
They will have a good commercial understanding of an account management role, great attention to detail and be highly organised.
The role will be a full-time position, most usually working Monday to Friday during office hours. That said, you will occasionally need to be involved at other times and days should there be a specific project involving you, or an issue with one of your customers that needs attention. The location of this role is London based with a mix of home and office working, alongside a lot of time out visiting our customers. There will be lots of time collaborating with the team, attending customer meetings, and spending time at the bakery.
Perks:
- Highly competitive base salary depending on experience, plus £10,000 potential bonus.
- Flexible working: a great combination of working from the bakery, at home and out and about in kitchens meeting chefs.
- Free bread and baked goods to all staff, plus staff discount at our shop in Greenwich.
- Free birthday cake of your choice.
- Pension scheme.
- Seasonal company social events.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Company events.
