Working closely with the Key Account Director and the rest of the team, this person will be proactively selling titles from all Hachette divisions (representing over 60 imprints!), maximising the sales and profitability of HUK titles through the UK discount sector.
You’ll be responsible for project managing print runs from conception through to invoicing. This role involves a high level of attention to detail and organisation, understanding the nitty-gritty of costs and the specs that those costs are based on. You will own all elements of your projects, from creating a P&L to the delivery of the finished product. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the market and the Discounters’ expectations and needs.
The role will also involve being an imprint lead for Non-Trade for specific imprints, including a focus on Octopus Books, working closely with their Commercial Director and Sales Director. You will be working closely with divisions to ensure all special sales meet specific author and brand sales development strategies.
There is a real chance to mould this role into something exciting, meaning that the above is not exhaustive
Who we are looking forWe’re looking for someone who is extremely commercially minded, driven and a strong communicator. We need someone who can hit the ground running and get stuck in immediately. You will need to be extremely confident in dealing with numbers and able to create P&Ls from scratch. We need someone who can manage and own multiple, simultaneous projects from start to finish, from the initial costing and quoting through to delivery. Experience and an understanding of FMCG sector processes and ways of working would be beneficial, so we welcome account managers and sales professionals from all industries and backgrounds to apply.
Understanding book and product specifications will be helpful as you will be interpreting them to create bespoke products for customers.
Excellent attention to detail is a must, as well as someone who is proactive and confident in taking on new tasks and winning new business.
Having had similar roles within publishing, retail and similar industries would prove particularly advantageous.
