Job Purpose

Our Key Account Managers provide a critical role in managing designated relationships with Aldermore distribution partners, enhancing the brand and growing the business. You will work closely with selected distribution partners to develop Sales and Marketing strategies to achieve predefined targets, as well as driving the proposition in line with the overall objectives and budgets.
Working closely with the Head of National Key Accounts, Head of Sales ( north and south) and National Account colleagues to identify market opportunities and to drive forward lender partner relationships, business performance, maximising territory performance and market share Use data to lead the Relationship Managers to maximise sales and achieve KPI’s with the Telephony teams
This position is not a traditional sales volume role as there is an ongoing requirement for an acute appreciation of building a profitable, high quality mortgage portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Working with the Head of Omni Channel and Head of Intermediary Distribution to develop the distribution strategy of Residential
Mortgages,prioritising Key Accounts, and implementing action plans with all, to successfully deliver pre-determined objectives.

  • Achieve all agreed business objectives with partnerships whilst promoting the company and its products in a professional manner
  • Developing a data led sales strategy for individual key accounts ensuring we are targeting the right opportunities in an efficient manner and then organizing a contact and education strategy with distribution partners, face to face, e-mail and telephone liaison
  • Conducting regular review meetings (i.e. quarterly) where appropriate either face to face or via a conference call
  • Ensure distribution partners are fully trained in Aldermore’s products, services, criteria, terms and procedures
  • Engage distribution partners (at all levels of business) through presenting the Aldermore proposition in collaboration with the TBDM and Relationship Managers, including joint visits
  • Identify high volume producers of business within each partnership and identify opportunities for growth

Engage and work closely with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Operations, Products, Sales Support, and the Intermediary Distribution Sales
teams) to deliver a joined up approach to the overall Aldermore proposition and key objectives.

  • Provide regular field/market feedback to the business to assist and improve planning of Aldermore’s products and procedures
  • Work closely with partnerships to maintain high standard of credit and submission quality of business
  • Provide feedback and solutions to Line Manager and relevant colleagues on any service issues that intermediaries raise, ensuring our service proposition is appropriately maintained
  • Expand, influence and shape a more tailored underwriting service for London ( Pilot has been rolled out so far with 6 firms involved).

  • Access to an underwriter either direct or via the RM
  • AIPs agreed in advance of DIP
  • Future limits agreed if appropriate at shaping stage
  • Fast track of applications (24 hrs)
  • Fortnightly review of cases
  • Maintain agreed production and calling records, ensuring these are up to date and in line with procedures search and identify other potential distribution partners and feedback to the business
  • Attend and support events where required to support the National Sales team
  • Produce and prepare detailed papers for executive decisions and actively contribute to content and agendas of Credit and Product Committees

Job Context and Special Features

The role will include regular travel, and overnight stays where required to accommodate events and external meetings.

  • Experience normally associated with successful performance of role
  • Experience of working in a sales role in the intermediary mortgage market, with wide ranging connections across the broker market and key distributors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the residential, and buy to let markets, with particular focus on and experience of the specialist areas
  • Strong understanding of the Intermediary lending channels
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the FCA/PRA Regulatory environment, standards, handbook and conduct requirements
  • Proven experience of developing successful relationships within Intermediaries
