Job description
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, animal loving individual to join our team at a busy and highly regarded animal boarding establishment.
The position will be for 9 months to cover for maternity leave initially however if all goes well a permanent position will be offered.
Candidates must have a clear passion for animals and be able to understand their temperaments and needs and deal with any situation in a calm and controlled manner. The work is physically demanding and includes all aspects of animal care from cleaning animal accommodation, feeding, providing enrichment and exercising.
As well as being part of the Animal Care team and undertaking all of the duties involved, you will also be expected to take phone calls, bookings and sign dogs and cats in and out and answer customer queries.
We need somebody who is extremely reliable, level-headed and responsible, with excellent interpersonal skills and a very high standard of customer service.
The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, be prepared to work in all weather conditions and have willingness and flexibility to work weekends and on bank holidays ( Easter, Christmas etc. )
You must have a positive attitude, be self motivated and a team player but someone who is also able to work independently with an affinity with animals and a love for all aspects of their care.
Previous experience working in a professional environment with dogs and cat along with A Certificate or Diploma in Animal Care (Level 3) awarded through an OFQUAL registered provider is essential.
The general working day runs from 8am through till 5pm. You will be working 5 days per week and will include rotated weekends and Bank Holidays, so flexibility and understanding the needs of the business is key.
Hourly rate will be based on age and experience.
