Job description
We are looking for someone to join our small team of animal carers at the Lodge Kennels and Cattery. We are looking for someone reliable, caring and hardworking - this is a physcially demanding role that includes being on your feet all day, lifting heavy items and working outside in all weathers. You must be passionate and have experience in handling or working with dogs and cats, and must be confident in dealing with the public. We require you to have gained or be in the process of gaining a Level 3 Canine Care qualification.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Preparing food and feeding/medication
Exercising dogs
Cleaning out kennels and cat pens
Bathing/Grooming animals
(Office work)- Answering telephone calls, taking bookings, checking dogs/cats in and out, greeting visitors/clients, keeping up with emails (must be computer literate) etc
Record keeping and taking payments
Maintaininence of the kennels and grounds
You will be required to work some bank holidays and your scheduled days will include Sundays.
