KBS (KPMG Business Services) is the single provider of internal business services, advice and expertise to the Firm, across HR and Learning, Market Development, Risk and Legal, Corporate Affairs, Finance and Procurement, Resourcing, Facilities and Business Support.
To date, KBS has played a critical role in supporting the Firm’s transformation journey through the delivery of a number of new technology solutions alongside operating model and process change.
With the continued uncertain economic backdrop, KBS priorities focus on continuing to ensure our Firm is fit for the future, while leading internal change and transformation which delivers value and further improves the employee and customer experience of the services KBS provides.One of the key components of our next phase of transformation will focus on delivering some big priorities across our Finance and Operations. Tasked with driving operational effectiveness across our business, the scope of this programme will include (but is not limited to) replacement of our current ERP system, integrations with remaining systems, review of end to end processes, operating model and ways of working as well as embedding behavioural and cultural change across all layers of our organisation to embed the change.
The Transformation Programme Director role will be responsible for leading the design, delivery and execution of this multi-year transformation programme. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing large multi-disciplined teams and has the right blend of Finance, Operations and Technology transformation expertise along with exceptional stakeholder management skills.
Job description
- Accountable for delivery of the Transformation programme across the full operating model (people, processes, systems, services, data and governance)
- Represent and deliver a solution which meets the needs of a diverse set of internal stakeholders including the KBS community, the Firm’s Executive and the client-facing business.
- Ensure programme outcomes are delivered, with supporting deliverables completed on time, to agreed scope, within budget and to the right level of consistency and quality
- Ensure best practice methods/ standards, reporting and tooling (including adherence to the Enterprise PMO standards and reporting) is applied to the programme including appropriate scaling to meet the programme needs
- Manage the interlock with our internal Technology function - collaborating effectively throughout the programme lifecycle from requirements definition, technology selection and fit assessments, build & test through to implementation of a Fit for Purpose Technical Solution.
- Effective management of vendors ranging from Technology, Consultants and Third parties and holding each to account, ensuring deliverables are to time, budget, scope and meet the agreed requirements.
- Ensure the effective management of programme scope, ensuring it aligns to overall programme objectives
- Lead the programme team in the creation an integrated plan that enables delivery of the programme whilst proactively managing RAID and dependencies.
- Robust management of programme costs and forecasts including external/ Technology spend and tracking to approved investment ask
- Responsible for identification of programme benefits and implementation of appropriate benefits realisation mechanisms and ongoing tracking and monitoring of benefits.
- Drive appropriate, fit for purpose governance forums (across progress, design and deployment) to manage the programme effectively, ensuring that the forums drive effective decision making and focus on realisation of the business case
- Provide change management and communications oversight: Ensure change management is being effectively planned and managed and that stakeholder engagement, communication, and all levels of required training is being effectively executed.
- Responsible for managing a wide range of complex stakeholder relationships (some outside of KPMG UK) and maintains a deep understanding of the needs of stakeholders to ensure all activity delivers greatest value, specifically supporting senior leadership
Qualifications and Skills:
An experienced Director Preferably has appropriate qualifications for project and/or programme management (PRINCE2, MSP, APM PMQ or similar) Proven track record and significant experience running large, complex finance transformation and technology transformation projects/ programmes Prior experience of implementing a large-scale technology solution is highly desirable Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure, with the ability to influence and direct teams who do not report directly into this role

Fast learner – able to pick up and run with new challenges quickly, take on responsibility outside scope of current skills and make things happen. Strong analytical skills are essential.Excellent communicator – formally, informally, in writing, in person and in the moment.
