- You MUST have a big smile that will make each client’s face light up when they welcome you at the door.
- A good pair of eyes and ears are essential. Ears to listen to a lifetime’s worth of stories, and eyes to help find things that they’ve misplaced!
- Each day is varied, you’ll need to think on your feet.. and it helps to be light on them too as clients often enjoy a dance following afternoon tea.
- A GCSE in history is not required, but helping a client relive their memories by flicking through a photo album together will be sure to make their day.

Being a Care Assistant with us:
- Highest pay rates in care £13 an hour * After 3 months probation
- Door to door milage paid at 45p per mile
- Guaranteed Pay Contracts - consistent pay for an agreed amount of hours every month
- Minimum 1-hour calls with your own regular matched clients
- Blocked work in the same location
- Scheduled Travel time
- Mileage pay at £0.45 per mile
- Part time and full-time hours available
- Accrued paid holiday
- Early Pay app - request up to 50% of your pay

You’ll need to bring oodles of patience, and a sense of humour. We’re a social bunch at Home Instead who love getting together for regular training (and parties!) and we will always be there to support you no matter what.
All we need from you is a full UK driving license with access to your own car and the desire to care for others, we can teach you the rest!
