Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 PA subject to experience

Job Role
We have an exciting opportunity here at Waddle Insurance for a Junior Web Developer to join our Development team. You will be reporting to a Senior Developer who you will work closely with daily, on projects that include the company’s website and CRM system. This is a key role within the company during a period of growth, allowing you access to new and invigorating projects.

Responsibilities
General
*Work as part of a development team on both front-end and back-end code for the company's CRM and Website.
*Be able to develop and troubleshoot programmes and work towards achieving business targets and goals.
JavaScript + jQuery
*Understand the strengths and weaknesses of JavaScript and keep these in mind when approaching tasks.
*Demonstrate a willingness and desire to learn new skills as well as refine current ones.
Day-to-day tasks:
*Develop and troubleshoot programmes
*Test software and eliminate bugs
*Work proficiently with all kinds of JavaScript infrastructures
*Analyse requirements for software
*Create software designs
*Implement the software designs using JavaScript
*Debugging code
*Documentation of code
PHP + Laravel
*Have a very good fundamental knowledge and be trained in developing and testing various PHP scripts.
*Create and maintain databases as well as performing backend and frontend tests to ensure the applications are optimised and performing effectively.
Day-to-day tasks:
*Write and implement PHP code and use PHP libraries
*Troubleshoot and manage pre-existing PHP code
*Write, test and maintain source code
*Securely interact with databases
*Gather requirements to design improvements to take place on the company's web applications hosted on Laravel
*Troubleshoot and debug code
*Write documentation for various development activities that take place
*Refactor and remove redundant convoluted pieces of code
MySql + Eloquent
Create SQL databases and ensure applications are interfacing with them correctly.
Day-to-day tasks:
*Maintain integrity of data
*Implement databases designs
*Ensure databases are operational for applications and developers
*Write SQL statements to retrieve data for applications
*Security of data in databases
