The Role
The Junior Researcher role is supported by an experienced Senior User Research Manager and a User Research Intern and plays an important role in the Product Design Team.

In this role your responsibilities will be as follows:

- With the right level of support, plan and execute ‘end to end’ qualitative user research projects by conducting the user recruitment, writing discussion guides, moderating the user sessions, and doing the analysis and reporting.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and involve the wider team in research activities, and help translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Help enrich our understanding of our users by situating user research findings in the wider context of our user data and analytics.
- Help develop and maintain our research repository.
- Provide support to help run the internal panel of users including communicating with them and checking they have the right software release. Engaging the panel with surveys and regular emails and identifying potential user research interview recruits.
- Ensure that we record session details and consent forms appropriately for GDPR compliance.
- Support the design team with other research tasks as needed.
Skills and experience
- Some working experience in user research or a research heavy role preferably in a product design or technology context – e.g., a previous junior user research role or a user research internship.
- An understanding of qualitative research methods and their application in user-centered design.
- Experience in conducting simple user interviews and usability testing.
- A bonus if you have some experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, SPSS, Looker, Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive meaningful insights from research data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to talk through research findings and recommendations to team members.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Curious about people and human behaviour and a good communicator.
- A fast learner, comfortable taking on new challenges.
- A team player but also able to work independently when needed.
- A good collaborator: this role will be working with designers, product managers and developers.
- Comfortable using the Microsoft office suite and online tools such as Miro.
- Media, entertainment, or technology industry experience is a bonus but not essential.
