Junior Test Rod & Rope Engineer:
Due to the continued growth of the business, we have an exciting opportunity to join us a Junior Test Rod & Rope Engineer to build and maintain new and existing Core Telecommunications Access Networks, Installation of rope, and to check Customer Lead-ins.
You will be part of a 2-man team working on underground and overhead cable networks. We will provide all the tools, training, certifications, and a vehicle to get you started, subject to meeting Insurance requirements. A positive can-do attitude, excellent team-working and communication skills and the passion to represent our brand would make you a great fit for our company.
Working Hours: Monday- Friday 08:30am - 17:30pm
As the Junior Test Rod & Rope Engineer, you will:
- Test Roding and Roping of underground ducts and the identification of traffic management requirements
- Checking and proving Pole bends
- Producing SLD's on successful completion of tasks.
- Interpreting and understanding Microsoft Word/Excel/PDF-based Job Packs and BT Duct diagrams
- Working outdoors in all weathers. All equipment and vehicles will be provided by the Company necessary to carry out the relevant roles
- Working to completion deadlines to ensure operational requirements are met along with working in confined spaces
- Completing all works to the high standard expected by the company
- Attending accredited training courses as and when required. Full training and accreditation support will be provided
- Adhering to all the Company’s Health and Safety policies. We would welcome applicants with the following skills and qualifications
- Survey and report any discrepancies that could prevent delaying the Build stages
- Locate Blockages and establish a clear route
- Testing Lead-ins to Properties.
Required Skills/Experience:
- A demonstrable interest in the telecoms industry and willing to learn
- Able to use initiative, pragmatic and able to problem-solve
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- A technical mindset and competency in using Microsoft office
- Full UK manual driving license held for a minimum of 12 month
- Able to work unsupervised in teams of two (after training period is complete)
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Have the right to work in the UK
