About Us
Rockliffe Hall is an AA-rated 5 red star resort in the north of England and is set within 375 acres outside the village of Hurworth, near Darlington in County Durham. We aim to provide an outstanding personalised service to each guest who stays, spas, golfs and dines and with us, acknowledging special occasions and making them memorable for all guests. We are currently seeking a Junior Sommelier to join Team Rockliffe!
The Role
The main responsibilities of the role will be (but not limited to):
· Ensure a high standard of wine & beverage service is consistently delivered in the Orangery and the Old Hall Cocktail Bar and Lounges.
· Ensure that our guests are provided with a friendly, professional and unobtrusive service during their dining experience.
· Share wine knowledge with other team members to help develop product knowledge within the department.
· Manage wine stock in the servery ensuring agreed stock levels are maintained and refilled
· Present, open and pour wine for all guests during dinner service to the Orangery standard
· Discuss and advise customers on their wine selection by maintaining up to date product knowledge
· Have a good knowledge of wine on tasting menu and able to discuss with guests in detail
· Conduct a pre-shift briefing to ensure all team members know which wines to recommend with each dish.
