Junior Software Engineer- Location Biddulph Stoke On Trent

Overview of Role:
We are looking for a junior software engineer to join our UK engineering team who is looking to grow their skill sets by developing and maintaining new and legacy software applications for high-tech x-ray control and imaging systems. Knowledge of basic computer networking and software development life cycle is required. This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work independently and within a team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance existing and legacy software using current toolsets and DevOps methods. Support and troubleshoot the CargoViewer software portfolio, improving long-term sustainability and identifying potential improvement opportunities.
- Ability to work on a globally connected team using agile processes and CI methods.
- Work with other engineers to solve operational issues, identify and resolve the root cause, and apply lessons learned to future projects and your own personal development. Focus on growing as an engineer by learning from your teammates and by learning existing tools, resources, and processes.
- Develop and maintain software deployment and installer applications.
- Support the development and integration of bespoke software solutions with custom software interfaces. Work closely with other engineering disciplines such as IT and field service as well as technical experts on the customer end.
- Provide technical support for installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of software products to field engineering and commissioning teams.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of software engineering experience with a core language such as C# or C++.
- Experience working on a software engineering team building and deploying software services and applications.
- Basic understanding of APIs, frameworks, and microservices.
- Knowledge of relational database systems, preferably SQL server is desirable.
- Familiar with software deployment technologies to streamline software delivery and updates.
- Technical problem solver who thrives on resolving challenging problems.
- Team player interested in working in a fast-paced environment and eager to learn.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
