Job description
Are you looking a recent Graduate looking for their first step into industry as a Junior Software Engineer role based in Colchester, Essex? If so, my client is currently recruiting for a Junior Software Engineer to join their R&D site based in Colchester, Essex.
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain machine control software C++ and C code and development activities on 64-bit windows 10 & 11 platforms. The ideal candidate will also have experience using visual studio 2015 (or later).

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior software engineers to design and develop software solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Python, C, and other relevant programming languages
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure software quality and functionality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python, C, and other relevant languages
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools
- Knowledge of database systems such as MySQL for data storage and retrieval
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
